Woman Charged in Shooting on Big Island

A Captain Cook woman has been charged in connection with a shooting Friday morning. Twenty-two-year-old Randi Kelli Banagan was arrested after she allegedly shot a 26-year-old man. The man told police he and his girlfriend were walking down Waiono Meadows Road just before 8 a.m. when Banagan drove up and they got into a confrontation. Banagan allegedly shot him in the chest with a rifle. He was treated for his injuries, then discharged. Banagan was arrested Saturday night and charged yesterday with second-degree attempted murder.
