Rail Construction to Resume Monday

The Honolulu City Council voted Wednesday to approve two permits allowing construction to restart on the $5.26 billion rail project, after more than a year of delays.  Construction crews will be back in the fields of East Kapolei erecting concrete columns for the project on Monday. Dan Grabauskas, executive director of the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART), said work will restart in a couple of places simultaneously -- on the columns and also regrading will take place at the maintenance and storage facility in Waipahu.
