No one was injured, but eight people were displaced when fire damaged a single-story home in Waipahu Sunday night. The fire was reported at about 9 p.m. on Lumi Place. The call was for an electrical short. When firefighters arrived, flames were visible. They quickly brought the fire under control and it was extinguished within minutes. The homeowner said she was doing laundry at the time and she saw smoke coming from a bedroom. She alerted others in the house to get out. The fire did an estimated $150,000 damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The American Red Cross is assisting those who were displaced by the fire.
