Budget Cuts Affect Hawaii Military Construction

More than half of the nearly $450 million in projected military construction for Hawaii has been sliced from the Defense Department's 2015 budget request. Marine Corps Base Hawaii at Kaneohe is expected to take a large hit from the spending cuts. Nearly $170 million worth of planned construction on a headquarters/operations center and airfield electrical system upgrades has been eliminated from the budget.
